The monsoon depression causes the formation of a huge cloud covering a geographical area of more than 600 square kilometers

Arab Weather - The satellite images received by the Arab Regional Weather Center have monitored the formation of a huge cumulus cloud resulting from the Monsoon depression that affects the south of the Arabian Peninsula, and according to satellite images, the geographical extension of this cumulus cloud reaches about 603 square kilometers, starting from the northern Emirates. All the way to the Empty Quarter in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, down to the center and south of the Sultanate of Oman.

The cloud covers 142 km of the area of the UAE and 583 km of the area of Oman

The cumulus cloud covered a large area of the UAE and Oman, which amounted to about 142 square kilometers, out of a total area of the UAE of 83,600 square kilometres.

While the cloud occupied a wider geographical area than the Sultanate of Oman, specifically Al Wusta Governorate and Dhofar, amounting to 583 square kilometers out of the total area of the Sultanate of Oman, which has an area of 309.501 square kilometers.

This huge cumulus cloud resulted in rainfall of varying intensity over the southern and southwestern regions of the Emirates, in addition to parts of the Empty Quarter and the Central Governorates and Dhofar in the Sultanate of Oman, accompanied by lightning and thunder sometimes.
