A 4.7 magnitude earthquake strikes provinces in the Beni Mellal region in Morocco
Arab Weather - The European Mediterranean Seismological Center announced that an earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale occurred at 8:37 a.m. on Tuesday in several areas in the Beni Mellal region. According to the source, the epicenter of the earthquake was 52 kilometers south of the city of Beni Mellal. And 24 kilometers northwest of the city of Ifrane, the depth of the earthquake was determined at 10 kilometers , and the location was determined at 31.881 degrees north and 6.484 degrees west.
Residents of several areas between Azilal and Khenifra felt the tremor, and described it as “strong,” according to several statements made to the media in Morocco. This earthquake comes within approximately one week of another 3-magnitude earthquake that struck the Wader Zem region last week.
