Tarwiyah Day: The beginning of the Hajj rituals 1444 AH / 2023 AD
Weather of Arabia - Hajj for this year begins on Tarwiyah Day, which falls on Monday 8 Dhu al-Hijjah 1444 AH, when the pilgrims head to Mina to carry out the Tarwiyah and start the rituals of Hajj.
Tarwiyah Day:
The eighth day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah is considered the Day of Tarwiyah, when the pilgrims perform the watering of water in Mina. On this day, the pilgrim doing tamattu is committed to a new ihram, while the pilgrim of singular and pilgrimage of qiran continues their first ihram.
According to the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the pilgrims stay in Mina during the Day of Tarwiyah and perform five prayers: Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayer for the day of Arafah.
Naming the Tarwiyah Day:
The eighth day of Dhu al-Hijjah is called the “Day of Tarwiyah” because of the process of irrigating the pilgrims with water on this day, in preparation for the coming days of Hajj rituals.
