ArabiaWeather.com- بمُناسبة اليوم الوطني الـ 84 أُزيح الستار في مدينة جدة عن أكبر علم يتم رفعه بالعالم، إذ يبلغ طوله 49.5 م وعرضه 33 م، بمساحة إجمالية تصل إلى 1635 متراً مربعاً، ويزن العلم 570 كلغ، كما يبلغ ارتفاع سارية العلم 170 متراً.

 

وتم اختيار موقع العلم بعناية فائقة، إذ تم رفعه في وسط ميدان خادم الحرمين الشريفين بشارع الأندلس-المتقاطع مع طريق الملك عبد الله، وذلك بعد أن تم تثبيته بسارية تزن أكثر من 500 طن.

 

ولم يقف الأمر عند هذا الحد فقد تم تصميم أكبر شعارٍ للممكلة في مُحيط الميدان وذلك على مساحة 26 ألف متر مربع وتم تزويد العلم والسارية بأنظمة تُمكنه من رصد اتجاه الرياح وسرعتها وقياس نسبة الرطوبة وشدة الهطولات المطرية.
