لحظات رعب عاشها المتسلقون، عندما انفجر البُركان فجأة لتحاصرتهم سُحب الرماد الكثيف، فأصرّ بعضُهم على توثيق الحدث رغم خطورته بكاميرا خاصة ونشر مقطع الفيديو على الإنترنت، كما يظهر في نهاية المقطع الرماد البركاني وقد حجب أشعة الشمس بشكلٍ كامل وغطى المُتسابقين بطبقة من الرماد.
