وفي تاريخ 12/12/2010 م كان للثلوج نكهة مميزة عند سكان دمشق، رافقت آنذاك المنخفض الجوي القطبي العميق وبطيء الحركة وتمترست غيومه فوق لبنان ودمشق وريفها بشكل لافت لساعات طوال وتعرضت خلاله مدينة دمشق لتراكمات ثلجية جيدة فيما شهدت أغلب مرتفعات ريف دمشق الغربية والشمالية عواصف ثلجية قاسية.
