Arab Weather - The latest outputs of the weather maps specialized in monitoring hurricane movement in Arab Weather indicate that Tropical Storm Helen is now located near latitude 20.4 north and longitude 85.9 west. Helen is moving along the northeastern coast of the Yucatan Island and is moving northwest at a speed of 10 miles per hour.
The latest satellite images indicate that the storm is continuing to develop and move northwestward, as it is expected to reach the Gulf of Mexico later today, Wednesday , and tomorrow, Thursday, while reaching the coast of Big Bend in Florida late Thursday.
Weather forecasters at Arab Weather said that the latest wind speed observations so far have approached 60 miles per hour with gusts exceeding that. Hurricane Helen is expected to intensify during the day and tomorrow, Thursday, before turning into a hurricane later today, Wednesday, and turning into a strong hurricane tomorrow, Thursday, carrying huge amounts of rain exceeding 500 millimeters in some southern states of America.
The authorities issued several warnings about the danger of the expected strong winds and expected wave heights of 10-15 feet and the occurrence of flash floods and major river floods. The concerned authorities also warned of the danger of landslides in the steep areas in the southern Appalachian Mountains.
