Weather of Arabia - A scientific team in Russia has achieved a remarkable achievement in the field of manufacturing prosthetics, as they succeeded in developing an electronic artificial ear capable of efficiently restoring the sense of hearing to people who have lost it. This innovation constitutes cooperation between a team from the Universities of Moscow and Perm, under the supervision of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, where The silicone prosthetic ear is designed to look exactly like life.
According to Professor Igor Bezhokladnikov from Perm University, the electronic prosthetic ear is made of hypoallergenic silicone material, is similar in appearance and color to the skin, and can be easily repaired if damaged. The head of the Department of Otolaryngology at Perm University, Alexei Ilovikov, points out that this The technique can be used to treat cases of apnea that affect the ear and the external auditory canal, leading to hearing loss.
Ilovikov adds that this innovation reduces the necessity of performing traditional surgeries to create an artificial ear canal, reducing potential risks and complications.
Sergey Arutinov, Head of the Department of Digital Dentistry at Moscow University, pointed to an important step in the world of digital medicine, as he announced the production of the electronics of the prosthesis in large quantities, and explained that the outer part made of silicone will be manufactured individually, as the patient’s healthy ear is scanned to ensure Integrity and accuracy of the design. In the event that a person loses both ears, the ears will be selected from the project’s digital library database, which contains several models of ears.
Arutinov confirmed that the next stage in the project includes conducting clinical trials on patients, with a focus on improving the design of the electronic prosthetic ear if needed.
