The professor of seismology at the University of Jordan, Professor Najib Abu Karki, and the director of the Jordanian Seismic Observatory, Ghassan Suwaidan, indicated to the Ammon News Agency that citizens are affected by the recent earthquake events in neighboring countries and are in a state of tension, and they justified the feeling of vibrations by saying that there are other events due to which the population may feel With things that may give them the illusion of vibrations, especially with the state of stimulation they are experiencing, such as a security event, for example.

Abu Karki said that a plane breaching the sound barrier, for example, causes vibrations in the windows, something that may cause an earthquake to be felt, noting at the same time that no one has ever reported hearing the sound of an aircraft at the moment of feeling the vibration.

Abu Karki pointed out that he was awake when the posts started reporting that an earthquake had occurred, and he followed the event directly and continued to follow it for more than two hours and did not find anything indicating that an earthquake had occurred in the observatories, stressing that the Jordanian Seismic Observatory has the final say in the end.

Suwaidan stated that the Jordanian Observatory is capable of recording any earthquake, even if it is small, noting that the observatory records vibrations resulting from explosions in rock quarries and phosphate.
