Schools and roads closed as UK faces widespread disruption due to heavy snowfall

Arab Weather - The United Kingdom was hit by chaos due to heavy snowfall, with snow thickness expected to reach 15 cm in some areas. This led to traffic disruption and the cancellation of train services, causing major disruptions for travelers.

Met Office Warnings

The Met Office has issued three yellow warnings for snow and ice, covering much of northern England. The warnings urge people to take care when travelling on the roads.

Highway impacts

National Highways is reporting snow disruptions in the Northeast and Northwest through 10 a.m. Tuesday. Snow accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are expected on some highways.

Rail service disruptions

The National Railways said cold weather conditions will affect several northern railway lines until 2pm on Tuesday, adding to the misery for travellers.

Schools closed in different areas

1. Wales: Around 130 schools in Powys, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham have been closed due to the weather.
2. England: Around 40 schools in counties including Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Warwickshire have been closed so far.

Disruptions are expected to continue with weather warnings remaining in effect over the coming days.
