The ritual of Arabia - according to the popular tradition and the sayings of the ancestors: If the square begins to rain, then it heralds a rainy season, and if it begins to be dry, then it heralds a dry season.
The winter square got its name from the number of its days, i.e. forty days.
According to the popular tradition, the winter quadrennial has a fixed date every year, starting on December 23 and continuing until the end of the thirty-first day of January (9 days of December + 31 days of January = 40 days).
However, according to weather experts, Thursday, December 22 of this year 2022, is the first day of the square and the beginning of the winter solstice.
The winter solstice is defined as the beginning of the square: it is an astronomical phenomenon in which the winter season begins in the northern hemisphere, as the North Pole tilts away from the sun by 23.5 degrees due to the deviation of the Earth’s rotation axis around itself, and as a result the birth of the four seasons occurs.
Unlike the summer solstice, with which the summer season begins and the longest day of the year.
As for the equinox, it means the time when the hours of day and night are equal in all parts of the globe, and it is in the spring and autumn seasons.
The day of the winter solstice is characterized by a late sunrise and an early sunset, and this day is the shortest day and the longest night during the year, as we will witness a day of approximately 14 hours.
The winter solstice is the perfect time of year for amateurs to see the beautiful planets and stars.
It was said in Al-Murabaaniyyah: (Oh, squared, oh, covered) (Oh, the sun burns, O rain that drowns)
Al-Murabaaniyya is the coldest day of the year and the beginning of the rainy and snowy season.
We recall that the duration of the winter season is ninety days, and the winter season falls into two parts: the first section is the quadrennial forty days, and the second section is the five-year period.
With the end of the fifties, the winter season ends and the spring equinox comes, in which the length of the day is equal to the length of the night.
The Almighty said:﴿ So I said forgive your Lord, for he was a forgiveness (10).
{And We made from water every living thing (30)} (Surat Al-Anbiya).
And it came in the supplication: (Oh God, give us rain and do not make us of the despondent. Oh God, grow the crops for us, turn the udders for us, and give us water from the blessings of the earth and the sky, and grow for us from the blessings of the earth and the sky. Nor upon us, O God, upon the hills, the mountains, the bellies of the valleys, and the places of the trees.
