Weather of Arabia - The Jordanian Astronomical Society monitored the conjunction of Jupiter and Venus from the Sixty Towers restaurant in the city of Salt, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Where the moons of Jupiter were also monitored.
The conjunction is the alignment of Jupiter and Venus in one line in the sky, and it is seen from the earth as if they were two points close to each other, and this conjunction occurred in the sign of Pisces.
Usually, the conjunction of Jupiter and Venus occurs every 13 months, but this almost rare conjunction, in which the angle between them converged to about half a degree, will not be repeated with this closeness until September 2, 2039.
It was worth noting that the two planets began to approach each other two weeks ago, and the closest distance between them was today, Thursday, March 2, at exactly 2 pm Saudi time, but the distance between them is still more than 600 million kilometers.
This association coincided with the birthday of the member of the Jordanian Astronomical Society, Professor Lina Al-Yassin, as the birthday cake was celebrated on the sidelines of the event.
We thank Mr. Youssef Al-Awamleh, the manager of the Sixty Towers Restaurant, for all the facilities that were provided for the success of the astronomical observation.
