The global temperature for today, Monday 6/3/2024, approached 50 degrees Celsius, as it recorded a maximum temperature of 47.9 degrees Celsius, according to the Jordanian Meteorological Department, thus exceeding all Gulf countries in an exceptional precedent.

This comes because the Kingdom was affected by a climatic phenomenon that rarely occurs in the summer and coincided with the rush of hot air mass towards the Kingdom, where winds called Foehn Winds blew, which is a scientific expression that expresses winds that descend from the mountain slopes to the valleys and are subjected to intense and significant heating. The Arabia Weather Center has warned about it in its reports and media appearances during the past days.

The origin of the name, according to the Arabian weather, comes to the German language, where the word Foehn means hair dryer (dryer), and the reason is due to the discovery of this phenomenon in the Alps and the mountains of southern Germany.
