The data showed a significant increase in the number of people infected with chickenpox, as it increased by 178%, bringing the number of reported infected people to 19,223 people in 2023, compared to 6,900 infected people in 2022. Returning to 2019, the number of reported infections did not reach Half the number of infections in 2023.
The number of measles infections also increased last year, reaching 1,360 cases compared to 457 cases in 2022, an increase of 198%.
On the other hand, the number of reported brucellosis cases decreased over the past year, as the number of infected people decreased to 299 compared to 437 cases in 2022.
The number of reported cases of dysentery also increased, reaching 212 cases compared to 18 cases in 2022.
In the same context, the number of blood donors decreased according to blood bank statistics contained in the report of the Department of General Statistics, as the number of donors reached 142,899 compared to 144,327 donors in the previous year, while the number of blood units dispensed increased during the past year to reach 186,674 units compared to 159,527 blood units. , an increase of about 17%.
