Arab Weather - The Minister of State for Media Affairs, the official spokesman for the government, Ali Al-Ayed, announced the continuation of the decision to impose a comprehensive curfew in all governorates of the Kingdom, for the next Friday and Saturday.
Al-Ayed indicated that the decision comes based on the recommendation of the Crisis Cell at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, and in light of the continuing high levels of new infections with the Coronavirus. Stressing that the government relies on citizens' awareness and commitment to ease the closure and embargo measures.
Al-Ayed called on citizens to adhere to safety measures, prevention, physical distancing and wearing masks. Stressing that the easing of measures depends mainly on the extent of commitment, as it is the decisive factor in limiting the spread of the epidemic.
He noted that the government, in coordination with the competent authorities, will continue to take measures to ensure the health and safety of citizens, which are the first priorities as always directed by His Majesty King Abdullah II, taking into account the balance between safety measures and the interest of various sectors.
With regard to the decision to ban the comprehensive curfew for the next Friday and Saturday, Al-Ayed explained that his hours will start from one in the morning of Friday, and will continue for a period of 48 hours, ending at exactly one o'clock on Sunday night.
He pointed out that after the end of the total curfew hours, the usual partial curfew hours begin, during which only authorized citizens are allowed to go outside, and that lasts until six in the morning.
Regarding what was circulated on social media related to the preparation for a decision to ban comprehensive curfews for a period of 30 days, Al-Ayed confirmed that this information is completely untrue, pointing out that the government, in coordination with the concerned authorities, held a series of meetings since yesterday, and did not consider this option at all.
Regarding the procedures for allowing travelers or returning from abroad to pass through the security checkpoints, Al-Ayed indicated that their passage will be facilitated by showing them photos of the travel tickets of the army or public security cadres deployed in all governorates of the Kingdom, pointing out that every traveler can use only one person To drop him at the airport, provided he also shows a copy of the travel ticket.
