Weather of Arabia - The Public Security Directorate stressed the necessity of adhering to preventive advice and guidelines to avoid incidents of sunstroke, heat stress, and fires, in light of the high temperatures today, with their continued rise in the next two days, according to bulletins issued by the competent authorities.

The directorate said in a statement that it is ready to deal with any emergency and provide assistance with the entry of hot and dry air mass, calling for the necessity of not being exposed to direct sunlight, especially in the areas of Aqaba and the Jordan Valley, in order to avoid the risk of sunstroke and heat exhaustion.

It also called for drinking appropriate amounts of fluids, especially water, and wearing light, loose clothing.

The Directorate stressed the need not to leave children alone inside vehicles, and not to leave flammable materials inside vehicles such as sterilizers, gas canisters, lighters, and perfumes.

The Directorate highlighted the importance of wearing protective head coverings and hats and taking a rest, especially for people whose work nature requires them to stay under direct sunlight for long periods.

She called for the need to monitor children and not allow them to play in the sun for long periods.

The Directorate also called for not overloading electric fences beyond their capacity by running air conditioners, fans, etc. on a single electrical source, monitoring them, disposing of cigarette butts in a safe manner, and staying away from areas of dense grass that are a breeding ground for reptiles such as scorpions and snakes.

The Directorate stressed not to hesitate to call the unified emergency phone 911 if the need arises.
