Arab Weather - Olive tree cultivation in Koura District surpasses any other tree cultivation, as it represents a historical extension of the olive (perennial) or what is locally called "Roman or Kafri olive". Koura includes about one million olive trees of various varieties (local; Syrian; Souri; Nabali; Qanbisi; Nasuhi and Talsmani), covering (34%) of its total area, and its cultivation is concentrated in mountainous areas and on the banks of valleys. The cultivation of olives with perennial roots has grown significantly until it has become a style of living and a way of life and a symbol and slogan for the Jordanian Koura region, as the number of Roman olive trees is about (15) thousand perennial trees and their age is more than 2000 years and is characterized by permanent greenery, its distinctive heritage appearance and its ideal oil; its trunk diameter is estimated at about two meters or more; most of them are in the towns of Deir Abi Saeed, Tabnah, Jdita, Kafr al-Ma, Ashrafieh, Jenin al-Safa and Kafr Awan

Koura district in northern Lebanon is also famous for producing the best olive oil in Lebanon, and there has been a twinning agreement between the two districts since 1998.
