Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest results of the so-called computer simulation of the movements of weather systems in the northern hemisphere indicate that a very cold and early air mass is rushing towards the eastern European region, extending towards the waters of the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, but it quickly loses its coldness (as a result of the warming of the surface of the Mediterranean Sea) and turns into an autumnal and humid air mass that causes a decrease in temperatures in the Levant and Jordan, especially at night.
In detail, the Kingdom has experienced during the past few days an atmosphere that can be described as closer to summer than autumn during the day, as the atmosphere was remarkably hot, especially in low-lying areas, and temperatures were higher than their average. Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Center said that the Kingdom will be affected by an air mass with colder than usual temperatures starting Thursday and continuing until the end of the week, causing a clear drop in temperatures to be 2-3 degrees Celsius cooler than their average for this time of year.
14 Day Weather in Amman, Jordan
The weather will be cool in the morning hours, especially over the highlands, and pleasant for the rest of the day. Maximum temperatures will be in the early twenties Celsius to slightly higher over the high mountainous areas, including the highlands west of the capital Amman, while they will reach the late twenties in the rest of the lowlands, and exceed the mid-thirties in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Clouds will spread at different altitudes, and scattered and local showers of rain are likely in the north of the Kingdom, which may extend temporarily to parts of the central regions.
Northwesterly winds are active during the afternoon and evening hours, accompanied by strong gusts exceeding 50 km/h, which stir up dust and dirt in desert and exposed areas, especially in the east of the Kingdom. At the same time, active northwesterly winds, along with the presence of cloud cover, contribute to moderate weather, especially over mountainous and western regions.
Minimum temperatures will drop to range between 12-16 degrees Celsius over the high mountain peaks and the eastern plains, while minimum temperatures will be less than 12 degrees Celsius over the peaks of the Sharah Mountains, amid a cool to relatively cold but refreshing atmosphere.
It is expected that humid air currents will rush in from the Mediterranean Sea during those nights, so that humidity levels will rise, and the weather will be remarkably humid with the appearance of low clouds, and fog will form over some mountain heights, especially the northern ones.
The weather at that time (i.e. after midnight and the morning) becomes unsuitable for outdoor sessions due to the combination of cold weather conditions and high relative humidity, as well as the occasional activity of northwesterly winds. Therefore, "Arab Weather" advises school students to wear a light coat to suit the relative coolness of the weather during the dawn and early morning hours.
God knows best.
