Arab Weather - The Director General of the National Electricity Company, Sufyan Al-Batayneh, announced that the Kingdom recorded today, Sunday, the highest winter electrical load in its history, reaching 4,210 megawatts.
He explained in a press statement that the highest winter load during the winter season of last year reached 4,070 megawatts, while the highest summer electrical load was recorded on August 14, 2023, and reached 4,240 megawatts.
Al-Batayneh stressed the National Electricity Company's ability to cover the electrical load and its readiness to meet the demand for electricity, noting that all the company's cadres are in the field to deal with any emergency.
He said that the weather conditions witnessed in the Kingdom since the end of last week caused an increase in the maximum load due to the low temperatures.
Various regions of the Kingdom witnessed a sharp drop in temperatures, as a result of the Kingdom being affected by a very cold air mass of polar origins. The lowest temperature recorded at dawn and Sunday morning was -4.6 degrees Celsius in Shobak.
