Jordan | Recording the first case of West Nile fever

Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Health announced the registration of the first case of West Nile fever through the fever monitoring program in selected areas. The case was diagnosed in the central laboratories of the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Raed Al-Shaboul, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Primary Health Care and Epidemics, stated that the registered case belongs to a 6-year-old girl, who is in a stable health condition, under medical supervision, and is recovering.

Al-Shaboul added that the fever monitoring program targets areas with diverse geographical representation, stressing that the disease is not transmitted from person to person and is not a public health concern.

Al-Shaboul confirmed that the Ministry of Health has a strong monitoring program capable of detecting cases and diagnosing them in the laboratory with high efficiency.
