Arab Weather - Meteorologists at the "Arab Weather" Center reported that there will be a noticeable drop in temperatures during the coming nights, as the air temperature near the ground surface, at a height of a few centimeters (similar to the air temperature in weather bulletins measured at a height of one and a quarter to two meters), is expected to reach nearly zero degrees Celsius in the eastern plains and desert regions. Therefore, farmers are advised to avoid irrigating crops in those areas to avoid any negative effects on them in light of the drop in air temperature near the soil.
In addition, strong winds are expected to hit the Jordan Valley, with gusts expected to reach 100 km/h during Thursday/Friday night, dawn and Friday morning. Therefore, farmers are advised to secure greenhouses and agricultural equipment tightly to avoid damage due to strong winds.
The reason for the intensity of the easterly winds when they come to the Jordan Valley is that they come in a direction opposite to the natural situation in the region, as these winds descend at high speeds from the mountainous heights towards the Jordan Valley.
The doubling of wind speed is due to the large difference in altitude between the mountainous areas and the Jordan Valley, which contributes to the acceleration of the winds as they descend. In addition, the air blowing over the Jordan Valley is dry and cold, which increases its speed and increases its impact on greenhouses and crops.
God knows best.
