Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest outputs of computer weather models that monitor the movements of air masses in the layers of the atmosphere close to the Earth's surface show the movement of an air mass with temperatures colder than usual for this time of year, moving in a continental path from Eastern Europe towards the Badia of the Levant and Iraq, to settle most of the days of next week over the region and cause a noticeable drop in temperatures in Jordan, especially at night.
The effects of the colder-than-usual air mass are expected to be more pronounced starting Monday, increasing on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing temperatures down to be 2-4 degrees Celsius cooler than their average for this time of year. The weather will be cool over the highlands and pleasant in the rest of the regions, with maximum temperatures during the day reaching the early twenties Celsius in the capital Amman and most of the highlands. Winds on Tuesday and Wednesday will be easterly to southeasterly, moderate in speed, with active gusts in some areas.
14 Day Weather in Amman, Jordan
During the night hours, especially after midnight and early morning, the weather becomes unsuitable for outdoor sessions in the aforementioned areas, due to the cold weather and the noticeable drop in minimum temperatures, which may reach only 8-10 degrees Celsius in most areas, including the capital, Amman. The eastern regions of Jordan are the most affected by the drop in temperatures at night, where the minimum may reach only 6 degrees, and it is likely that the minimum temperatures will be the coldest since last spring. Therefore, "Arab Weather" advises wearing a light coat to match the cold weather during the dawn and morning hours, especially with the presence of eastern winds that increase the feeling of coldness.
As temperatures continue to drop at night in the coming days, noticeable temperature differences between day and night are expected, ranging between 10-15 degrees Celsius, and temperature differences in desert areas reach about 18-20 degrees Celsius, due to the significant radiation cooling in those areas. Accordingly, it is warned of the risks of temperature differences and relative cold weather at night, which may increase the chances of catching a cold and seasonal diseases, especially among children.
The air mass is following a dry path, which means that it is not accompanied by rainfall. Therefore, stable and dry weather is expected to prevail in the areas it affects, with a noticeable drop in temperatures, especially at night.
And God knows best.
