Weather of Arabia - The Public Security Directorate renewed its warnings as a result of the prevailing weather conditions and the rise in temperatures the Kingdom is witnessing.

The Directorate stressed the need to follow a number of tips and guidelines to avoid incidents of sunstroke and heat exhaustion, especially during the days of Eid and the accompanying social, tourism or recreational activities such as hiking, offering sacrifices, and others.

Here are the most important instructions:

  1. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight to avoid the risk of sunstroke and heat exhaustion, especially in the desert, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
  2. Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, and wear light, loose clothing.
  3. Do not leave sterilizers and lighters inside the vehicle during high temperatures because they contain flammable materials.
  4. Do not leave children alone inside the vehicle while fulfilling their needs and do not allow them to play in the sun, especially at peak times.
  5. Wear protective headgear and hats and take a rest, especially for people whose work requires staying under direct sunlight for long periods.
  6. Do not set fire to grass, especially in forested areas, and stay away from areas of dense grass that are a breeding ground for reptiles such as scorpions and snakes.
  7. Avoid overloading electrical appliances by running air conditioners, fans, etc. on a single electrical source.
  8. Do not hesitate to call the unified emergency phone (911) if necessary.
