Weather of Arabia - The quantities of water stored in the main dams in the Kingdom until this morning amount to (85) million and 660 thousand cubic meters, with a storage ratio of 30.51% of the total storage capacity of dams of 280 million 760 thousand cubic meters, while the storage rate of dams last year on this day 36% of the total storage.
These quantities are close to last year for dams used for irrigation, where the quantities of water stored in the King Talal Dam are about (44) million cubic meters, with a storage rate of 65.5% of the total stock, and the quantities of water stored in the Wadi Al-Arab dam are (8) million cubic meters, with a storage rate of 48. %, Sharhabeel Dam (1.7) million with a storage rate of 43.4%, Kafranja dam (3.2) million with a storage rate of 41.4%, Shuaib Dam (1.25) million with a storage rate of 100%, and Kafrin Dam (6.5) million with a storage rate of 76.7% of the dam's storage capacity.
As for the storage ratio of dams that are used for drinking and irrigation purposes, it is very low. It is the Al-Wahda Dam, which has a storage rate of 15.2% and the Mujib dam with a storage rate of 3.3% of the total stock. While the percentage of storage in the Wala dam, which is used for underground feeding, reached 13.6%.
As for the southern dams, which are used for irrigation, industrial uses, and groundwater recharge, the percentage of storage in them is very low. It is the Tannour dam, the storage rate in it is less than one percent, and the Karak and Lajjun dams are about 12% of their total reserves.
It should be noted here that the total amount of rainwater that entered the dams from the beginning of the rainy season is about (85) million and 660 thousand cubic metres.
