Arab Weather - Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the Kingdom and other countries in the northern hemisphere will enter the fall season in terms of meteorology at the beginning of next September, as the first day of September is considered the first day of the fall season in meteorology in the northern hemisphere. The maps received from global computer models for the medium and long term indicate a change in weather systems in the northern hemisphere, as the features of autumn begin to become clear from the high latitudes and gradually begin to extend to lower latitudes.
Weather forecasters at the Arab Weather Center said that the advanced computer outputs for simulating the shape of weather systems for the medium and long term indicate an increasing change in the distribution of weather systems and their acquisition of an autumnal character, as the cold air rushes from the high latitudes gradually downward towards the lower latitudes. Summer begins to collapse and leave the polar regions, high latitudes and subpolar latitudes, with the acceleration of the sun's apparent journey towards the south, and the length of the night increases.
As more weather systems change in early September, polar air concentrates in the higher latitudes and Atlantic storm activity increases as very cold air masses of polar origin pass into the warmer Atlantic waters.
Autumn features have already begun in the European continent and are reaching the Maghreb, where some cold upper basins reach lower latitudes, thus affecting southern Europe and crossing the waters of the western and central Mediterranean, causing weather disturbances and heavy thunderstorms, especially in several countries. During the crossing of the upper basins, unstable weather conditions arise in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria, accompanied by thunderstorms of varying intensity and hail showers.
Temperature forecast maps also indicate that autumn will begin in the Levant, including Jordan, early next month, as temperatures drop below normal levels. The weather will be moderate during the day in the high mountains, but it will get colder at night, which requires wearing a coat, especially at dawn and early in the morning. There is also a chance for rain showers to fall on some coastal areas in Syria and Lebanon.
Autumn is considered a transitional period during which the weather changes and becomes more turbulent in many Arab countries, as the cold basins coming from the north towards the south deepen and penetrate, creating cases of atmospheric instability that lead to the actual beginning of the rainy season in many Arab regions.
Autumn is also a time for rain and atmospheric instability in the Arabian Peninsula, and a drop in temperatures from the exhausting forties in the summer to more moderate levels. Autumn is a season of waiting and hope for farmers and agriculturalists who await signs and news of rainfall to prepare their agricultural lands and prepare for the upcoming agricultural season. In addition, the months of this season usually witness an increase in the incidence of respiratory diseases due to the increased fluctuations and differences in temperature, before the cold air settles in the Arab region during the winter months.
God knows best.
