Al-Ziyad explained to "The Kingdom" that "Civil Defense efforts during the past week, (from Sunday until the end of Saturday), the Civil Defense Directorate dealt with 9,729 different communications between firefighting, ambulance and rescue, which were received by the civil defense operations rooms in all governorates."

Fire accidents constituted "2.8 percent of the 274 reports of accidents, including 82 house fires, most of which were due to electrical shorts, in addition to the wrong use of heaters (14 accidents), which resulted in 6 injuries, shortness of breath, and one death during the past week," according to the increases. He pointed out, "incidents are still under investigation, and 5 incidents of child tampering."
