Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest outputs from the so-called computer simulation indicate that the Kingdom will be affected by a very cold Siberian wave, believed to be the strongest since the beginning of the season, accompanied by severe cold weather at night, especially in the northern regions of the Kingdom.
In detail, the Kingdom is affected by a very cold and Siberian wave accompanied by a surface high called the Siberian high, starting from the north of the Kingdom on Saturday, where temperatures will drop sharply and very cold weather will prevail in those areas, while the capital, Riyadh, and the rest of the regions will remain far from the effects of cold winds, where moderate weather will prevail despite the slight drop in temperature to be in the early twenties Celsius in Riyadh.
The winds will be northwesterly, active in speed in the north-east of the Kingdom, which may lead to the raising of dust waves in those areas as the cold air mass enters the country.
God willing, during the night hours of Saturday/Sunday, cold winds are expected to blow towards Riyadh and the effects of the cold wave will reach, as temperatures will drop sharply and the temperature differences will reach 15 degrees between day and night in the capital, Riyadh. Extremely cold weather will prevail in the northern regions, with temperatures dropping to around zero or below, while they will drop to around 7 degrees Celsius in the capital, Riyadh.
On Sunday, a severe cold wave will cover large areas of the Kingdom, with temperatures dropping further and becoming 4-5 degrees Celsius lower than their average for this time of year. The weather will be cold in most areas, with maximum temperatures around 17 degrees Celsius, while the weather will turn very cold at night.
Active easterly winds are expected to blow, accompanied by strong gusts that stir up dust and dirt, known locally as the Saba winds, especially in the northern parts of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region and northern Jeddah, reaching the coast of Al-Wajh in the north, with varying intensity. This coincides with the extension of the Siberian high and its direct impact on large parts of central and northern parts of the Kingdom.
And God knows best.
