The Crescents Department in the Supreme Court reviewed what it received from the courts about the sightings of the crescent of the month of Rajab for this year 1444 AH on the evening of the twenty-ninth Sunday of the month of Jumada al-Akhirah for the year 1444 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 1/22/2023 AD, and after the department reviewed what was reported to it In this regard, I issued Resolution No. (166 / AH) dated 1/7/1444 AH, which includes: Confirming the sighting of the crescent of the month of Rajab for this year 1444 AH on the evening of the aforementioned day; Accordingly, the New Moons Department in the Supreme Court decided: that Monday 7/1/1444 AH - according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 1/23/2023 AD is the first day of the month of Rajab for the year 1444 AH.
