Arab Weather - The Executive Director of the Cloud Seeding Program stated that the program began using 5 aircraft, 4 of which are dedicated to cloud seeding operations and one aircraft for research purposes for taking cloud samples.

Flight hours and rainmaking operations in Saudi Arabia

He pointed out that the number of flight hours allocated for reconnaissance during the previous periods amounted to about 1,450 hours, in addition to 50 hours allocated for research operations. He stated that the program includes about 450 daily rainmaking flights covering 6 targeted areas, in addition to 14 or 15 research flights.

• Goals and expectations

He explained that the overall goal of the program is to increase the amount of rainfall, noting that the daily estimates of rainfall amounts monitored during the past period exceeded 5 billion cubic meters. He also stressed the ongoing efforts to improve the positive performance of the program, as the program achieves an operational efficiency of up to 97%.
