Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - Specialists at the "Arab Weather Regional Center" are monitoring the latest indications of numerical model outputs of radical changes in weather systems that will positively impact the Kingdom. These changes are represented by the rush of a cold air mass coming from eastern Europe and the Levant, coinciding with an extension of the Red Sea depression and an influx of tropical moisture from the south, which causes the formation of unstable weather conditions on a large scale.
Experts believe that the weather conditions are now available to form the first case of toxic rain that will gradually begin to affect the Kingdom starting from Wednesday, as it is expected that cumulonimbus clouds will begin to form in limited parts of the northern Riyadh region and parts of the northern Eastern Region, accompanied by local rainfall. At the same time, thunderclouds will continue to form in the highlands of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, and parts of Taif and the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, accompanied by rain of varying intensity.
Gradually, during Thursday and Friday, the rainy conditions will begin to take an upward trend in terms of intensity and comprehensiveness, such that thunderclouds will form over large parts of Qassim, Hafar Al-Batin, and some of the interior parts of the Eastern Region, in addition to the highlands of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and parts of Makkah, Taif, Al-Baha, Jazan, and Asir, accompanied by rain of varying intensity.
The forecasts indicate that the rainy conditions will reach their peak impact on the Kingdom during the hours of Friday night and Saturday day, as clouds will form on a large scale and heavy rains will fall, sometimes accompanied by hail showers in Hafar Al-Batin, parts of Hail, Al-Qassim and the northern Riyadh region. It is not unlikely that they will cause a rise in water levels and the flow of valleys and torrents. The rains will also include parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha and the eastern parts of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region with varying intensity.
Minimum temperatures are expected to drop significantly and noticeably to below 10 degrees Celsius in large parts of Al-Jawf, Tabuk, the Northern Borders and Hail. Large parts of the aforementioned regions are expected to record temperatures ranging between 8-10 degrees Celsius and may be less than that. These are considered cold temperatures that require turning off the air conditioners and wearing warm clothes that are appropriate for the expected cold weather. And God knows best.
Winds will be active in many areas and will cause dust and dirt to be stirred up, especially in open areas and before rain falls. They will also become active during the sudden passage of thunderclouds and will lead to local dust storms.
