Saudi Arabia | By royal order, March 11 is set as Flag Day, and it will be an annual official holiday

Weather of Arabia - Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a royal decree, on Wednesday, defining the eleventh day of March annually as a flag day and to be an official holiday.

The decision came based on March 11, 1937, when the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud adopted the official form of the flag that still exists today. According to the official "SPA" agency.

The royal decree stated that the renewal of Flag Day came “based on the value of the national flag that extends throughout the history of the Saudi state since its founding in 1139 AH corresponding to 1727 AD, which symbolizes the testimony of monotheism in the middle of which is the message of peace and Islam on which this blessed state was based, and the sword symbolizes strength and pride.” The height of wisdom and stature."

The text of the order also clarified the value of the Saudi flag, as it stated that "for nearly three centuries, this flag was a witness to the campaigns to unify the country that the Saudi state waged, and the citizens of this country took from it the flag of pride, lofty and unbreakable."

The royal order concluded with the following: “Since the 27th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1355 AH corresponding to the 11th of March 1937 CE is the day when King Abdulaziz, may God rest his soul in peace, endorsed the flag in the form that we see it flying today with its great indications that refer to monotheism, justice, strength, development and prosperity, we have commanded what It is coming: First: March 11th of every year will be a special day for science, with the name “Science Day”... Secondly: Our matter will be communicated to the competent authorities for approval and implementation, as stated in the text of the decision.
