Saudi Arabia: Thunderstorms resume in large parts of the western region on Friday, including Makkah

Arab Weather - The latest weather maps in the Arab Weather Center indicate expectations that thunderstorms will renew in several parts of the southwestern and western regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Friday 8/30/2024, as a result of the continued flow of tropical moisture to the region, which accompanies the advance of the imaginary tropical belt.

Areas covered by rain forecast in the Kingdom on Friday

The specialists at the Arab Weather Center said that it is expected that cumulus clouds will increase in the afternoon hours of Friday over some of the highlands of Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha, but they will be concentrated in the regions of Medina and Mecca and may include the Two Holy Mosques.

These clouds are accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail in some areas, which leads to the flow of valleys and ravines and the rise of water levels in the roads.

It is not unlikely that limited thunderclouds will form in scattered parts of western Hail, western Qassim, and northwestern Riyadh region.

There will also be another slight drop in temperatures in several areas, especially the northern ones, with the weather remaining hot in most areas, while it will be moderate in the Sarawat Mountains. The northern winds will be active in parts of the eastern and central regions, stirring up dust and dirt. The winds will also be active with the passage of thunderclouds temporarily.
