China decides to demolish the fake `Sphinx` statue

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">ArabiaWeather.com- The Chinese authorities decided to demolish a replica <strong>of the Great Sphinx</strong> in China after Cairo submitted a complaint to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) about this model.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The model, identical to the famous Sphinx, appeared in a Chinese village in Hebei Province, with the same real dimensions as the original statue that sits on the sands of the Giza region near the Egyptian capital, Cairo.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The designers of the Chinese statue completely imitated the &quot;original&quot; Sphinx, in the accuracy of designing the details of the head, which is a human head, as well as the body that takes the form of a lion, in addition to &quot;copying&quot; the broken nose of the Sphinx, which was damaged in mysterious circumstances hundreds of years ago.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> A Chinese official told the Chinese news agency, Xinhua, that the statue was built only for cinematographic purposes, and that it would be demolished immediately afterwards (Sky News Arabia).</p>
