Renewable energy... supports the global economy with $160 trillion

A report titled "Global Energy Transition: A Roadmap to 2050", issued by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), confirmed that there are ways to meet 86% of global energy demand using renewable energy.

The report indicated that expanding the use of renewable energy in addition to the electricity supply could provide more than three-quarters of the reduction in energy-related emissions needed to achieve global climate goals.

The report added that the global energy supply will more than double during this period, with the majority of it being generated from renewable energy , which mostly comes from solar and wind energy, quoting Al-Qabas newspaper.

The Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Francesco LaCamera, explained that renewable energy is the most effective and readily available solution to counter high carbon emissions, in order to secure a secure future for the climate, noting that a combination of renewable energy sources, a deeper supply of electricity and improved energy efficiency can To achieve more than 75% reduction in energy-related emissions.

He stated that a rapid energy transition in line with the 2050 Roadmap would save the global economy about $160 trillion cumulatively over the next 30 years, pointing out that every dollar spent on energy transformation will pay off 7-fold.

La Camera added that by the middle of the current century, the global economy will be larger, and jobs that are provided in the energy sector will increase global employment opportunities by 0.2%.
