Arab Weather - Iraq has recently been exposed to a wave of heavy rains that led to the formation of torrential floods and a rise in water levels in many areas. This was the result of a low pressure system crossing in the upper layers of the atmosphere and merging with a surface extension of the Red Sea depression, which led to heavy rainfall and caused shops to be flooded and incurred significant material losses. These weather conditions have raised concerns among residents, with fears growing that the situation will worsen if the rains continue.
Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Regional Center indicated that the maps show the upper air depression causing the atmospheric instability moving away from Iraq, to be replaced by an extension of the air high in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
Foggy weather prevails Tuesday morning in large areas of Iraq, especially in the north. For the rest of the day, temperatures will remain around their normal rates for this time of year. On Wednesday, moderate autumn weather will prevail in most areas, including the capital Baghdad, with clouds appearing at different altitudes, and rain falling in northern Iraq, which may be in the form of thunderstorms in limited areas in the far south of the country. Winds will be northwesterly and moderate in speed.
During the night hours of Tuesday/Wednesday, the weather will be relatively cold in most areas, especially in the north and west of the country. The winds will be northwesterly, light to moderate in speed.
And God knows best.
