Arab Weather - Dr. Abdullah Al-Musnad, Professor of Climate at Qassim University (formerly) and Vice President of the Saudi Weather and Climate Society, explained that the Earth today is located at a full astronomical distance from the sun, which is equivalent to about 149,600,000 kilometers.

He added that this distance means that light takes about 8 minutes and 3 seconds to reach the Earth from the sun.
