Weather of Arabia - On Sunday morning, the Director General of the Broome Mayfa District, Dr. Khaled Hassan Al-Juhi, chaired an extraordinary meeting of the District’s Emergency Committee to discuss preparations to confront the expected effects of Hurricane “Tej” on the District.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al-Juhi and members of the Directorate's Emergency Committee heard an explanation from a representative of the Emergency Committee for Tropical Situations about Cyclone "Tej" and the expected effects on the Directorate. The representative provided a set of directions and warnings that citizens must follow.
The ongoing preparations to confront the effects of Cyclone Tej were discussed during the meeting, and the Director General listened to the needs and opinions of the members of the Emergency Committee and their necessary demands to confront the tropical situation.
Dr. Al-Juhi stressed the dedication and great interest of the local authorities in preparing to confront the effects of Cyclone Tej, and stressed the provision of support and meeting the emergency committee’s needs as much as possible to ensure good preparation and the safety of citizens.

First, Dr. Al-Johi and members of the Emergency Committee heard a report from a representative of the Emergency Committee for Tropical Situations about Cyclone “Tej” and the expected effects on the district. Directions and warnings were issued to citizens as necessary to confront the tropical situation.
The ongoing preparations to confront the effects of the hurricane were discussed, and Dr. Al-Johi listened to the needs and opinions of the members of the Emergency Committee. Dr. Al-Juhi urged the security and military authorities and relevant offices to perform their duties responsibly towards citizens and their property.
The Director-General issued a call to citizens to exercise caution and stay away from the coasts, valley bottoms, and flood streams. He pointed out the necessity of adhering to the instructions and warnings of the Meteorological Chamber.
At the end of the meeting, a joint operations room was formed to coordinate between the security, military and relevant authorities.
The Emergency Committee also decided that citizens must call the directorate’s security operations number in the event of any emergency. The emergency committee also included representatives from local offices, security, meteorology and fisheries associations.
