The ministry confirmed in its statement on Friday that it is prohibited to raise the flag if it is “faded or in poor condition,” and if it becomes unusable, it will be destroyed by the party responsible for it.
It also stressed the prohibition of using the flag as a trademark or for commercial advertising purposes, and the necessity of storing it in a place that preserves its safety and prevents it from being damaged or dirty.
The statement also noted that it is prohibited to place the flag on the bodies of animals or to attach it incorrectly to the pole. The flag must always be standing and free to move, and must not be used as a tool to tie or carry things.
The ministry explained that it is not permissible to add any phrases, logos or drawings to the flag, or to make any modifications to its edges in any way. It stressed the need to refrain from using the flag in any way that may insult it or expose it to damage, including printing it on materials that can be disposed of after use. It is also not permissible to raise the flag upside down under any circumstances.
The statement added that lowering the flag of the Kingdom or the flag of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is strictly prohibited, and stressed the necessity of not letting the flag touch the ground, water, or anything lower than it.
Finally, the flag of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is exempted from these prohibitions, as the Kingdom’s emblem, consisting of two crossed swords and a palm tree, may be placed in the lower corner adjacent to the mast.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia will celebrate the National Day on Monday, September 23, which is the anniversary of changing the name of the country from the Kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd and its Dependencies to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, at the hands of the founding king, Abdulaziz Al Saud.
