The Shuaiba project relies on installing solar panels to convert sunlight into electrical energy, which contributes to meeting the needs of hundreds of thousands of housing units. This station has a capacity of more than 600 megawatts , making it one of the largest solar energy stations in the region, thanks to the installation of solar panels and connecting them to the electrical grid. Solar energy is converted into electricity, and then distributed to more than 350,000 housing units .

The Shuaiba project is considered one of the world's leading projects. Because it has achieved a world record as the lowest cost of purchasing electricity produced from solar energy, this project comes as part of the initiatives to celebrate the 93rd Saudi National Day, and its operation will be completed in stages with the completion of the last stage in the fourth quarter of 2025 ; The Shuaiba project represents ACWA Power's sixth station in the Kingdom to generate electricity from renewable sources.
