Arab Weather - Al-Ahsa Governorate was hit in the early hours of yesterday morning by a severe dust storm that lasted about 35 minutes, which left material damage, including: the fall of lighting poles, trees, banners, fences, damage to vehicles, electrical networks, the closure of a main road path, and tracks And other sub-junctions, power outages in a group of neighborhoods, fires in some electrical transformers, and limited fires in some locations.
The storm, which arose due to downward winds caused by local thunderstorms that formed in the vicinity of the area, caused the fall of electric wires from high pressure poles in some roads and intersections, but the timing of the storm in the late hours of the night and outside the peak time, contributed to the absence of casualties, thanks to God.
In turn, the official spokesman in the Al-Ahsa Municipality, Khaled Bushel, confirmed to Al-Watan yesterday that all the competent authorities in the municipality announced a state of maximum alert from the first minutes of the storm's start, and took over the support of other relevant authorities, and treated and maintained about 20 electric lighting poles, and were also mobilized. The Agency for Services in the Municipality with all its staff, represented by the General Department of Hygiene, has started the sites of gatherings of dust, dust and storm residues, according to the order of priorities and importance of roads according to traffic movement and population density, all the way to residential neighborhoods.
The Services Agency, represented by the General Administration of Sperm, begins its work in manual sweeping of what was created by the wave of dust that swept Al-Ahsa.
