ويرجع سبب تشكُل حالة عدم الاستقرار الجوّي لتدفُق تيارات هوائية رطبة في طبقات الجو المتوسطة والعالية، بالإضافة إلى ارتفاع درجات الحرارة السطحيّة.

 

وقد تمكّن العديد من هواة التصوير ومُتابعة أحوال الطقس من التقاط مشاهد للبروق في سماء حائل والتي حوّلت سماء الليل إلى ما يُشبه النهار في بعض اللحظات.
