Weather of Arabia - Emirati photographer Rashid bin Aziz Al Shehhi was able to document with his lens a wonderful video clip highlighting the distinctive rings of Saturn, from the highest peak in the Emirates.

Al-Shehhi wanted to document Saturn in a video clip, in conjunction with a distinctive astronomical phenomenon that the world witnessed last week (Monday night), which is the arrival of the planet Saturn to the closest point to Earth, which gave lovers of astronomical phenomena an opportunity to peek at Saturn's famous rings.

According to the Jeddah Astronomical Society, through its official account on Twitter, Saturn arrived on Monday (August 2nd) to the state of opposition and the closest distance from the planet Earth, adding that its rings were at the peak of their brightness and that the opportunity is ready to see the planet for the rest of the year.

Through the lens of his high-resolution zoom camera, the Nikon P1000, the photographer was able to document the rings of Saturn.

At first, the Emirati photographer was planning to document the phenomenon from Dubai, specifically from the tallest tower in the world, the Burj Khalifa, but the humid climate prevented this idea.

Al Shehhi explains that the humidity forms light clouds in the air, which hinders the possibility of filming, so he decided to move the filming location to Jebel Jais in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, which is the highest peak in the Emirates.

On the reason for choosing Jebel Jais as an alternative filming location, Al Shehhi explains that the dirt obstacles do not reach the top of the mountain due to its height, which provided a crystal clear view of the night sky.

Al-Shehhi describes the sight of Saturn, saying that it is a beautiful sight, adding that with the naked eye you can only see a bright star in the sky.

Al-Shehhi was able to see the rings of Saturn through the zoom feature of the camera lens, which is clearly visible in the video clip that he documented.

Al-Shehhi pointed to the varying reactions to the video clip, which he shared through his account on the "Instagram" website, as some questioned the truth of the video, and others asked him if he had documented a UFO.

It is worth noting that Al-Shehhi, last year, managed to capture video and close-up photos of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai from Jebel Jans, which is located in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
