Arabiaweather.com- A huge cloud of dust billowed from the Villarrica Volcano in southern Chile, one of the most active volcanoes in South America.
Large quantities of lava flowed from the crater of the volcano, forcing the authorities to take immediate action and evacuate thousands of people from their homes in anticipation of any emergency.
The eruption of the Villarrica volcano began around 3 am Chilean time, according to the National Emergency Office, which issued a red alert and ordered the immediate evacuation of residents in the surrounding areas. There are some lightning strikes.
The erupting volcano is located in the south of Santiago, above the city of Pucon, and reaches a depth of approximately 3,000 meters in the Central Valley of Chile.
