وقال وزير الخزانة "إن حكومة بريطانيا عازمة على الوقوف إلى جانب المجتمعات المحلية المتضررة من هذه الفيضانات المدمرة وهذا هو السبب في أننا اليوم نعلن مضاعفة تعهدنا لمماثلة الأموال التي جمعتها المؤسسات المحلية لتصل إلى مليوني إسترليني".

 

وأضاف "إن العمل العظيم الذي تقوم به الجمعيات الخيرية المحلية تساعد المجتمعات المحلية على الوقوف على أقدامهم، وسنقوم بدورنا في ذلك أيضًا".
