Levant | A very cold night and minimum temperatures drop below zero degrees Celsius in many areas, especially the mountainous highlands

Arab Weather - For several days now, all regions of the Levant have been affected by a very cold Siberian wave, with extremely cold weather prevailing with low temperatures similar to those recorded in winter. Cloudy weather also prevailed most of the time with rain falling in many areas, which was in the form of snow showers over the mountain peaks in Syria and Lebanon, with great activity in wind speeds that doubled the feeling of cold.

Tuesday/Wednesday night will be very cold and temperatures will drop below zero degrees Celsius in several areas, especially Syria and Lebanon.

During this night, the amount of clouds decreases further, and the cold weather at night reaches its peak. According to the Arab Weather Center, temperatures will drop further to be close to zero degrees Celsius in several parts of the Levant during the late night hours, and will drop below zero, especially in the Levant desert and high mountain peaks.

With the appropriate weather conditions and the harsh cold weather resulting from the drop in temperatures to around zero degrees Celsius, frost forms in many and wide areas of the Levant, including the main cities, while the formation of freezing in places where water pools are located is not excluded. Frost formation begins early in the night hours, i.e. Tuesday/Wednesday night, and intensifies and expands with time, and continues until the late hours of Wednesday morning, especially in the desert, above the high mountain heights, and the eastern plains areas.

Wednesday: Very cold weather with a gradual decline in the effects of the cold wave

Wednesday morning will be very cold with frost forming in large areas and freezing. During the rest of the day, temperatures will rise slightly, but will remain colder than usual for this time of year. Very cold and frigid weather will prevail over the highlands, especially in Syria and Lebanon, with the appearance of low clouds that may be accompanied by some rain showers in some coastal areas.

During the hours of Wednesday/Thursday night, very cold weather will prevail in various regions, with the weather gradually starting to recover and temperatures rising slightly over the weekend and the beginning of next week, but with the continued need to wear warm winter clothes, especially at night and early morning.
