موقع Arabiaweather.com – حسن عبدالله – تتجدد فرصة الزخات الرعدية تدريجيا اثناء فترة العصر من الثلاثاء في المرتفعات الجنوبية الغربية من المملكة ، حيث تتكاثر السحب المحلية تدريجيا في فترة الظهر وتتطور الى الرعدية عصرا في بعض المناطق من أبها وعسير وجازان.

ويعود سبب تساقط الامطار الرعدية على المرتفعات الجنوبية الغربية بسبب الوضع التضاريسي، حيث تجبر الجبال صعود الهواء الى الطبقات الاعلى الاكثر برودة مما يحصل التكثف وسقوط الامطار، ويطلق على ذلك ب "الرفع الميكانيكي للهواء" .
