Update | Category 3 Cyclone Tej begins its direct effects on parts of Oman and Yemen, and Omani Meteorology issues Update No. 4

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">Weather of Arabia - As the third category Cyclone “Tej” continued to move towards the Authority of Oman and Yemen, the National Center for Early Warning of Multiple Hazards issued Warning No. “4”.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"><br /></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> At these times, Hurricane “Tej” directly affects the city of Dhofar, Oman, with rain of varying intensity. Satellite images indicate that the hurricane is centered at these times, southwest of the Arabian Sea, at latitude 14:10 north and longitude 53.48 east, and the center is far away. It is about 318 km from the coast of the Sultanate of Oman, and the wind speed around the center is estimated at about (95 - 110) knots.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"><br /></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> According to the latest weather maps specialized in tracking the movement of hurricanes at the regional “Arab Weather” Center, the hurricane is expected to continue moving in a west-northwest direction, towards the Omani Governorate of Dhofar and the Yemeni Governorate of Al-Mahra, and it is expected that very heavy rains of approximately (100-300) mm will fall, Strong winds will blow at speeds exceeding 40-70 knots, and the sea will be rough with waves reaching 8-11 meters, with expectations of sea water extending to coastal areas and creeks.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> More details in the attached report: </p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"><img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/uploads-2020/F9FSbIvXsAAofBl_2.jpg" style="width: 927px; height: 1200px;" /></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p>
