The Director General of the Health Department at the Ministry of Health, Abdul Amir Al-Halfi, said in a briefing to reporters from the ministry’s headquarters on Monday that Iraq is free of the "black fungus" disease that has spread in India in an alarming manner during the recent period.

Al-Halfi explained that "the ministry's examinations did not record any infection with the Iraqi people coming from India," noting that "pollution and lack of hygiene are the primary factors in the occurrence of the disease, and Iraq is completely free of it."
