Arab Weather - The Ministry of Health said that scientific studies and practical experience proved that the application of "safety" contributed to breaking the chain of infection and limiting the spread of infections in society.

The ministry added in a press statement today, Wednesday, that about thirty to forty cases of Coronavirus are discovered daily through the application, which prevents additional infections that may reach hundreds of infections per day.

She indicated that the application is proving its effectiveness day after day in tracking contacts and detecting the source of infection infections, pointing out that the number of application users has reached one million and 650 thousand.

She explained that the contact tracing mechanism through smart phone applications is used in more than fifty developed countries in the world. Such as Britain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America.

Regarding the observations received from citizens about the delay in the arrival of alerts despite their contact with people infected with the virus, the Ministry attributed this to the fact that the application alerts those in contact with the infected for a previous 14 days, which is considered the incubation period of the virus, as any person who had contact with an infected person during this period may be exposed to infection with the disease, with reference to It indicates that not everyone who receives an alert via "safety" is necessarily infected.

She added that the second reason is that alerting contacts depends on security files on the phones of the infected after they have been confirmed to have the disease, indicating that in order to speed up uploading the files of the injured to alert those in contact, the Ministry of Health has activated a special call center in this matter.

The Ministry indicated that the mechanisms of epidemiological investigation are divided into two parts, the first is related to the direct question of the injured about the people and places he visited, as investigation teams conduct checks on this basis, while the second concerns digital investigation through the application of safety through applications in smart devices and the adoption of data science.

The Ministry called on everyone, in light of the increase in the number of local injuries, to adhere to Defense Orders 11 and 16 of 2020, to follow safety and prevention standards, wear masks, and not hold gatherings of more than 20 people.

It is noteworthy that Jordan is one of the first ten countries that began developing smart applications to track contacts with the aim of counting them and limiting the spread of the Corona virus among citizens.
