Learn about the heritage of the Hudson Valley in upstate New York

Weather of Arabia - In 1996 Congress established the National Heritage Area in the Hudson Valley, New York State, and this region is considered the cradle of European settlement, by the Dutch and then the British, as it was an arena for strategic battles in the colonial wars.

The Hudson Valley extends from the county capital of Albany and its surrounding cities in the north, to the outskirts of the New York City region in the south, and the area shared by a group of counties consists of rolling hills that lead down to the Hudson River.

The Hudson Valley region is known for its sleepy riverside towns, such as Albany, Beacon, Hudson, Poughkeepsie, Saratoga Springs, Troy, Woodstock, and Kingston.

History tells the stories of the valley

Lyndhurst Palace in the town of Tarrytown, is a Gothic palace that is one of the most beautiful things to see during a trip to the Hudson Valley. Irving's grave site can be visited in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Kikwit Palace in Pocantico Hills Village and the Old Dutch Church.

In Hyde Park, you should visit the Vanderbilt National Historic Mansion overlooking the Hudson River, and admission to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum cannot also be missed.

Arts and museums in the Hudson Valley

Art-loving travelers also like to sip tea and attend an evening party at the Karamore Center in Katonah, an 80-acre Mediterranean villa.
